Bargain Car Rentals have been notified of a severe weather warning for Townsville Airport and surrounding areas. We will close our Townsville Airport location effective from 12:00pm (local time) 25th January, 2024. We’ve made this decision to keep our customers and employees safe during this time and we’ve been notified that Airlines have commenced the cancellation of their services from this afternoon.
The Townsville Airport location will remain closed until 12pm (local time) on the 26th January 2024. We will continue to monitor the situation and review re-opening the location during this time, updates will be posted to this page.
If you are a customer due to pick up your vehicle during this time.
You will not be able to collect a vehicle while the location is closed for operation, customers should;
- Bookings made directly with Bargain Car Rentals and selected Book Now, Pay Later can cancel their booking without any charges. You can request a cancellation via our website, click here.
- Bookings made directly with Bargain Car Rentals and selected Pay Now & Save can cancel their booking and retain the value as credit. To cancel your booking or to see more information about using a credit click here.
- Bookings made via a 3rd party booking website or agent, customers should contact them directly for any changes or reimbursement requests.
If you are customer due to return their vehicle during this time.
You will not be able to return your vehicle while the location is closed for operation, customers should:
- Retain the vehicle until the location re-opens; customers will need to call our Contact Centre on 1300 729 230 to arrange to extend their rental period. Extensions can be applied at a discounted daily rental rate.
- Return the vehicle to our nearest location; customers will need to call our Contact Centre on 1300 729 230 to arrange a relocation and payment of any additional charges.
- Customers should not abandon the vehicle; The Primary Driver as detailed on the rental agreement will retain responsibility for the car until it’s return to Bargain Car Rentals.
