Bargain Car Rentals has been notified of a severe weather warning for South East Queensland and surrounding areas. We have decided to close our Brisbane Airport, Gold Coast Airport, and Sunshine Coast Airport locations from 5pm AEST on March 6th, 2025, to 12pm on March 9th. If you are a customer due to pick up your vehicle during this weather event, you will not be able to collect your vehicle.
If you are due to collect your vehicle during the closure period, customers should;
- Bookings made directly with Bargain Car Rentals and selected Book Now, Pay Later can cancel their booking without any charges. You can request a cancellation via our website, click here.
- Bookings made directly with Bargain Car Rentals and selected Pay Now & Save can cancel their booking and retain the value as credit. To cancel your booking or to see more information about using a credit click here.
- Bookings made via a 3rd party booking website or agent, customers should contact them directly for any changes or reimbursement requests.
If you are a customer due to return their vehicle during this time and are not able to return the vehicle due to the weather event, customers should:
- Retain the vehicle until you are able to return the car; customers will need to call our Contact Centre on +61 3 6165 0838 to arrange to extend their rental period. Extensions can be applied at a discounted daily rental rate.
- Return the vehicle to our nearest location; customers will need to call our Contact Centre on +61 3 6165 0838 to arrange a relocation and payment of any additional charges.
- Customers should not abandon the vehicle; The Primary Driver as detailed on the rental agreement will retain responsibility for the car until it’s returned to Bargain Car Rentals.
If you are a customer that has a vehicle, not due to return during this time:

Any customer impacted by additional costs or out-of-pocket expenses as a result of severe weather delays and cancellations should contact their insurance provider.
